The Larva Lads are a collection of 5,000 fully on-chain collectible characters living on the Ethereum blockchain. The project, released for free in 2021, was created as an homage to Larva Labs and reimagines the CryptoPunks as cute little wormlike characters.

Though large portions of their aesthetic are borrowed, the Larva Lads maintain a distinct identity and are instantly recognizable. They've even inspired many derivative projects of their own!

The Larva Lads didn't exist until the moment they were minted. Each one was randomly generated by the smart contract. Unlike many NFT projects that rely on external services (IPFS, centralized servers, etc.) the Larva Lads are stored directly on the blockchain. This includes all metadata and even the artwork itself, ensuring that your Lad will exist as long as Ethereum does.
